Modeling at Myspace - 2007/05/13 23:17 I just had to start a discussion about the modeling talent at MySpace. I've had a profile there for a few months and lately have been amazed at the degree and numbers of beautiful and talented models I meet and see there...

Just today, a beautiful aspiring model whom I've been corresponding with left a message for me to check out the new results of her first official shoot. I was totally blown away...

She only had three of a series of shots that she had just done. But they were amazing. She was dressed simply, but communicated a level of class and sophistication that is so worthy of mention here. As the music played from her player, all I could see was visions of photo shoots, magazine covers, and music videos. Then runway scenarios started running through me head. She is a natural, and there are many like this there... I'm really proud to have answered her modeling questions for her when she asked, and am looking forward to the opportunity to do some creative work with her in the near future, as well as others that I've had the chance to meet there.

Whats my point? Its that Myspace can be a hazardous place, thats for sure, but more importantly its an excellent environment for new talent discovery and self-promotion, when things are well executed on the part of the talent. Its just a bit more than a kids place, but a place where there's much going on, and knowledgeable people are using it a useful starting point and platform to launch businesses, careers, and do some great networking. It works very we when your well informed and educated about the industry your working in. Having that important knowledge and awareness enables you to miss all the hazards that come along with this modeling and fashion industry.

We congradulate those who understand that knowledge is paramount, and that reading and studying your profession is an intrinsic tool for success... Thats why we provide such information here at DisplayMode.com, and we hope it proves to be useful for everyone...

If there's related subjects that you'd like to see here in the community, don't hesitate to let us know....

Re:Modeling at Myspace - 2009/01/26 05:21 There sure are alot of beautiful women on MySpace. But right now there are way too many "beautiful" (i will use that term loosely here) women who merely aspire to be "MySpace Models"

It is obnoxious!

Re:Modeling at Myspace - 2009/01/26 17:31 Excellent point.. It sometimes seem that MySpace modeling is their only goal, instead of recognizing it for what it is, merely a stepping stone, or just one tool in their arsenal of PR, marketing and Networking tools.

Modeling is a Visual art form, so visibility is the Key element, along with full articulation of who you are and what your goals consist of. So many I meet on MS have wonderful potential, but have no idea exactly what they need to do, or learn so they can accomplish their aspirations. It's really interesting and is very relative to what your saying DUR, but then I guess thats what MySpace models do, and why some will never go any further, even though they have huge potential to do so..

Anyone have more thoughts on this?
